Sam Boyce

Sam Boyce has worked as a literary agent, critic and editor, and more recently as co-founder and leader of the Creative Writing MA at Edinburgh Napier University. Described by The Times as ‘a radical departure in creative writing’ and by students as ‘a lifechanging experience’, the MA was the first in the UK to focus on professional development for writers of commercial genre fiction.

Sam is now a freelance structural/development editor for fiction, working with a number of publishers, and runs her own consultancy which offers manuscript assessment, development editing and mentoring/coaching to emerging and mid-career novelists, along with resources for writing groups and communities.

She shares a small office in Edinburgh with a whippet called Sinbad.
