Paul Welsh – Producer / Screenwriter
Based in Scotland, Paul develops and produces live action, animated and documentary film.
Since 2010, his feature films have played at many significant festivals including Berlin, Edinburgh, the Hamptons, Locarno, London, Rotterdam, SXSW, Stockholm, Sydney and Toronto, securing nominations and awards including British, Australian and German Academy Awards. His completed films include “Lore” directed by Cate Shortland (Somersault), the adaptation of Rachel Seiffert’s booker nominee “The Dark Room”. Looking ahead, Paul has a slate of films currently in development including Michael McDonough and Kelly Campbell’s “Famine”, based on Liam O’Flaherty’s classic Irish novel set during the great hunger.
A board member of Independent Producers Scotland and serving BAFTA committee member – when not producing or writing – Paul co-manages SFTN (Scottish Film Talent Network), part of BFI NETWORK for emerging film talent, co-funded by Creative Scotland.
